gay London

Vast, vibrant and truly multicultural, London is one of the worlds great cities.
Located in the southeast of England, on the River Thames, it is the capital of the United Kingdom (UK)
and has been the heart of its political, cultural and business life for centuries.
London is widely recognised as one of the gay capitals of the world, with a huge gay scene offering fabulous shopping,
clubs and bars to suit all tastes and cosmopolitan cuisine to make your mouth water.
It has over 130 gay venues all said. Try Soho, the heart of London's gay social community,
where you'll be spoilt for choice in an area with a year-long carnival atmosphere.
Or maybe trendy Islington, lively East London, or head west to chic Chiswick,
Knightsbridge, or south, for top bars in Gay Vauxhall, Clapham and beyond.
For clubs take your pick from GAY, Heaven, Action, Crash, Substation South, Fiction, DTPM and more,
or bop to some indie at Popstarz and punk at Red Eye.
Wherever you decide to go out, you're guaranteed an evening that's diverse, progressive and fast moving.
If you visit this great city and only see the gay scene you're not just gay darling, you're dumb and gay!

Visiting London can seriously damage your wallet, but it is possible to enjoy the city without the capital punishment. Many of London's best features are completely free of charge - the parks, many of the museums and churches, the markets at Portobello, Camden, Smithfields and Columbia Road. For a discounted site sightseeing tour hop on the Number 11 bus - a classic red Routemaster takes you from St Paul's to the King's Road via Fleet St, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Big Ben and Sloane Square - all for an adult fare of just £1.

During 2000 two new tourist attractions opened on the South Bank in London: the "London Eye", which is the world's largest big (Ferris) wheel, and the Tate Modern Gallery at Waterloo. The London Eye is an excellent way to see London on a sunny day.
Cruise on the Thames & fly on the London Eye for only £22.50
The Tate Modern art gallery is housed in the shell of an old, brick power station and it's worth a trip just to see the main turbine hall and the "wobbly" Millennium footbridge which crosses the Thames to St. Paul's Cathedral at that point.

To eat, Balans on Old Compton Street, the centre of the gay universe, along with its partner over in Earl's Court, and saw that it was good - but not that good, with its so-so food options and preening pumped-up muppets. No longer overbuzzingly cramped with more tables and a sister restaurant down the street.
